Manav Subodh, Program Director
Manav Subodh works as Global manager, entrepreneurship and innovation at the corporate affairs group at Intel. With Intel since early 2005, his main charter is to work with young innovators, inventors, designers and technology startups in over 30 countries and provide them opportunities for technology commercialization, licensing and entrepreneurship. Manav is passionate about empowering young people to activate their ideas to reality- a topic on which he also gave a TED talk at Intel headquarters in Santa Clara, CA. He is an engineer in electronics telecommunication and has done his master in business.
Andre Marquis, Faculty Director
Andre Marquis is the Executive Director of the Lester Center for Entrepreneurship at UC Berkeley. He is a serial entrepreneur with a long record of starting successful biotechnology and information technology ventures. Some of his notable startups include Amplyx Pharmaceuticals, Chorus at Eli Lilly (www.choruspharma.com), Internet Pictures Corp [NASDAQ: IPIX], Accept.com (acquired by amazon.com) and CyberGold [NASDAQ: CGLD]. Mr. Marquis was also a member of Boston-based CommonAngels and a founder of Incubator, LLC, a Berkeley-based business incubator. He holds an MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley.
Bhavik Joshi, Faculty
Bhavik Joshi brings 14 years of operational and business development experience at early, mid and late stage startups in Enterprise Software and Clean Tech industries. He is the CEO and a co-Founder of LaunchPad Central, co-Founder of the Berkeley Stanford Clean Tech Conference Series and a Senior Fellow at the Lester Center for Entrepreneurship at UC Berkeley. He holds an MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley where he now co-teaches a class in customer development and business model design. Bhavik assisted Steve Blank in UC Berkeley’s Lean LaunchPad classes and the National Science Foundation (NSF) Innovation Corps program at Stanford University.
David Charron, Faculty
David Charron is Senior Fellow and member of the professional faculty at the Lester Center for Entrepreneurship at UC Berkeley. He is an experienced entrepreneur including co-founding Scientific Learning Corporation, a publicly-traded neuroscience company based on innovations from UCSF and Rutgers. He has been a principal member of the faculty for Intel Corporation’s Global Technology Entrepreneurship Education project and the National Science Foundation (NSF) Innovation Corps. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from the Haas School of Business.
Jill Erbland, Senior Program Manager
Jill Erbland is a Senior Program Manager for academic and international programs at the Lester Center for Entrepreneurship, managing the Global Social Venture Competition, the Intel Global Challenge at UC Berkeley, and serving as the academic coordinator for the entrepreneurship program in the Berkeley-Haas MBA and undergraduate programs. Jill has a B.A. in International Relations and minor in Psychology from California State University, Chico.
